This restoration/repair service is for resolving the disc reading error for the MK4 DVD Navigation Computer Unit. If your unit is working normally but just not able to read your Maps DVD, then its a good candidate for this repair. Sometimes even a parasitic drain can be resolved with a new drive and firmware update.
Repairs include:
Replacement of Laser or Drive
Updating of Firmware to V32
Bench testing, making sure maps works well, and MK4 shuts down properly.

Special Considerations
Please include your Maps DVD when doing the repair so I can confirm the Drive is working well with your maps disc.
Make sure your Maps DVD is an Original Silver Disc. If it's got any color to it, its aftermarket and does not work well. Please see my pictured examples.
If your unit is just showing a blank display and not powering up this service may not help with your issue. Please contact me if that is the case.
