This restoration/repair service is for resolving the Pixelated Sharp LCD on the Widescreen 16:9 Board Monitor. If your LCD displays the menu screen but shows missing pixels or dead sections, it’s likely an ideal candidate for this repair.
Repairs include:
Replacement of SHARP LCD
Repairing Volume Adjuster or Buttons
Cleaning, Bench testing, Servicing tape or CD if needed
Installation of Bluetooth (if option selected for Tape Models Only)
In 10% of cases the unit will have a bad motherboard. Usually you will see a discoloration of the image, or you will see the colors flicker in and out. Sometimes you will have no backlighting or the LCD will be washed out. Motherboards are extra when available and typically run $150.
If your unit is just showing a blank display, it may be the Nav Computer in the trunk that's the problem. Replacing the MK4 will resolve that.
